Zionsville Fire Called To House Fire

At 12:53 Monday morning, the Zionsville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire near Poplar and 4th Street in Zionsville’s Village District. Zionsville firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the basement of the residence. Crews were able to bring the fire under control after 10 minutes. Two residents were home at the time of the fire and were alerted of the fire by their smoke alarms. Both were able to exit the home prior to crews arriving and were transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. There were no injuries to firefighters. Zionsville Fire Department investigators are investigating the cause of the fire and estimate damage costs to exceed $150,000.
