Witham Restricts Visitors Due To Increasing Respiratory Pathogens

Due to an increasing number of cases of respiratory pathogens in the community, Witham Health Services has implemented temporary inpatient visitor restrictions.

Guests experiencing fever, cough, headache, muscle and joint pain, sore throat or runny nose will not be allowed to visit inpatient units in the hospital. Exemptions may be considered for end-of-life, or for special considerations.

Visitors will be required to wear a mask in some situations (e.g. when visiting a patient in isolation). Masks are available at registration desks for all patients and visitors wishing to wear them inside Witham facilities.

These temporary restrictions are designed to help protect the most vulnerable patients from respiratory pathogens. They will be evaluated weekly and are subject to change based on community incidence of respiratory illnesses.

Witham encourages everyone to observe the standard practice of washing hands and covering coughs and sneezes.
