The Town of Whitestown is investing $14 million from its capacity fund to expand its wastewater treatment plant, increasing capacity from 1.7 to 2.3 million gallons per day. This expansion will support anticipated community growth over the next 5 to 10 years.
The expansion is funded entirely through the Town's capacity fund, through a capacity charge for each new connection to the system. It is not funded by taxpayer dollars. The capacity fund enables Whitestown to enhance its infrastructure without imposing additional costs on current residents and utility customers.
The expansion is expected to break ground by the end of 2024 and will take approximately two years to complete.
