In volleyball state finals from Ball State University Saturday, the fifth-ranked western Boone Stars more than lived up to their nickname in drubbing the No. 1 ranked Brownstown Central Braves with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-18. Western Boone finished the year with a record of 26-5. Individually, Western Boone's Reagan Durbin set a new state record for kills in the 2A championship match with 24 kills.
