The Sagamore Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Terre Haute North Vigo High School and Terre Haute South Vigo High School have accepted invitations to join the conference beginning with the 2026-2027 academic year.
The addition of these two prominent Terre Haute schools will expand the Sagamore Athletic Conference to six member institutions, joining current members Lebanon, Danville, Harrison, and McCutcheon.
"We are thrilled to welcome Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South to the Sagamore Athletic Conference family," said Lebanon High School principal, Frank Meyer. "Their outstanding athletic traditions, excellent facilities, and strong community support make them perfect additions to our conference."
Established in 1968, the Sagamore Athletic Conference has been a cornerstone of interscholastic competition in central Indiana for over five decades. The conference has built its reputation on fostering excellence in both athletics and academics while strengthening community connections throughout the region.
Athletic directors from all six schools have collaborated to develop innovative scheduling solutions that address transportation logistics effectively. The expanded conference is committed to providing competitive balance and enhanced opportunities for student-athletes across all sports programs.
"This expansion represents an exciting new chapter for our conference," Meyer added. "With six strong member institutions, we look forward to exploring future growth opportunities while maintaining our commitment to Education-Based Athletics."
The new conference alignment will take effect at the start of the 2026-2027 school year, with scheduling and other logistical details to be finalized in the coming months.
