On 10/10/2024 at approximately 2:47pm, Lebanon Police units were notified of a stolen vehicle being tracked by its owner, currently in the 300 block of N. Lebanon St. Officers arrived and observed the vehicle leaving an apartment complex northbound on Lebanon St. A traffic stop was attempted on this vehicle, but the vehicle fled. While fleeing, the suspect vehicle side swiped a civilian vehicle causing minor damage. Officers continued to attempt to get the vehicle to stop until it reached the area of Lafayette Ave. and Windhaven Ln. Once the suspect reached the dead end of Windhaven Ln., the suspect made a U-turn and drove directly at officers, striking a Boone County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The suspect quickly continued driving south on Windhaven Ln. around the BCSO vehicle, the suspect then rammed an LPD vehicle before continuing to flee. The pursuit continued south on Lafayette Ave. where the suspect side swiped another civilian vehicle causing minor damage. The pursuit eventually ended at the State Road 32 and I-65 overpass where the suspect vehicle was successfully boxed in, stopping any further tumultuous actions by the suspect. The suspect refused to exit the vehicle requiring officers to force entry to the car. The suspect was placed under arrest without any further incident. The suspect was cleared by medical personnel at Witham Memorial Hospital prior to being transported to jail. Two officers suffered minor injuries but were treated and released from the hospital as well. The suspect is identified as 28yo Christian Brown of Indianapolis, IN. Brown is being booked into the Boone County Jail on the following preliminary charges: • Auto Theft – Felony • Resisting Law Enforcement w/ a Vehicle – Felony • Battery on Law Enforcement x2 – Felony • Criminal Recklessness w/ a Vehicle – Felony • Leaving the scene of a property damage accident x4 – Misdemeanor • Criminal Mischief – Misdemeanor • Reckless Driving – Misdemeanor • Aggressive Driving – Misdemeanor
