Smock Steps Down As Tigers Coach

Lebanon Tiger's football coach Jeff smock announced on Tuesday he was stepping down as the Tigers football coach after eight seasons. Smock issued a statement that read, "After much thought and reflection, I have decided to step down as Head Coach of the Lebanon Tigers football program.  While football is dear to my heart, my wife and I have things that we are pursuing as a family that will demand my fullest commitment.

It has been an absolute honor to be the head coach of my alma mater for the past 8 years.  I like to believe that the program is in a better place than when we started.  The game of football has given me so much joy and countless opportunities and, for that, I am extremely thankful.  Coaching is an enormous responsibility and one that I always have taken very seriously.  For coaches in any of our high school extracurricular activities and sports, it’s the relationships we develop with players, parents, fellow coaches, and the community that are most impactful.  I have undoubtedly been blessed in this regard.

I want to thank our fans and parents for everything they’ve done (and continue to do) to help make our program improve and flourish.  Most importantly, my love and appreciation for our players has been unwavering and will continue to be so.  Thank you to all of our current and former players; you are what this is all about.  Thank you to the Lebanon Administration for their support these past 8 years.  I will continue to support the Tigers and believe fully that our football program will see continued success in the future.  Thank you and Go Tigers! Lebanon Athletic Director Phil Levine stated that the search for a new coach will begin soon.
