Mr. Ronald Dixon, 90, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Restoracy of Carmel surrounded by family.
Ron was born December 7, 1934, in Chicago, IL, a son of the late George and Mary (Sloger) Dixon. He married Betty J. Gott on September 16, 1955, at the Pleasant View Church. They were married 62 years, and she preceded him in death January 5, 2018.
Ron had worked as a service manager for J & J/ Shaffer Distribution Company. He enjoyed woodworking, along with camping with the RV Club and golfing. Ron also loved animals, especially his cats. He was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church and was active with the Shalom House.
Survivors include his son, Ronald “Bud” (Rebecca) Dixon of Bloomington; daughter, Mary Dixon of Lebanon; brother, George (Della) Dixon of Green Castle; grandchildren, Madeline (Ben) Collison of Charlotte, NC, Daniel (Cara) Dixon of Bloomington, IN, and Benjamin Dixon of Milwaukee, WI; and great grandchildren, Olivia and Lily Collison and Callum and Reeve Dixon. In addition to his parents and wife, Ron was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angela Marie; and brother, Charlie Dixon.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, March 22 for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Danny Walker officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
