Robert Lowell “Bob” Hedge

Robert Lowell “Bob” Hedge, 102, passed away at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana, on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1922, in Bainbridge, Indiana, a son of the late Paul Anderson Hedge and Effie L. (Harshbarger) Hedge.



Bob attended Lebanon schools for three years and graduated from Whitestown High School in 1941. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably, rising to the rank of Sergeant.



On November 7, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen (Hamilton) Hedge. They shared 53 loving years together before her passing on March 8, 2002.



Bob dedicated his life to farming, tending to both livestock and grain. He attended Fairview Christian Church and later became a member of Bible Baptist Church. Bob was also a Lebanon Co-op board member for 25 years. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Bob lived a full and wonderful life and will be greatly missed by all.



Survivors include his beloved companion of 20 years, Ella B. Turner; children, Linda Kay (Reg) Thoman of Brownsburg and Dale Dean (Titi) Hedge of Lebanon; ten grandchildren, including Theresa Pena who lived with her grandparents for a period of time; nine great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Judy) Hedge of Lebanon; sisters, Barbara Tanselle of Lebanon, Betty Kouns of Mecca, Indiana, and Patty Goladay of Lebanon.



In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his sons, Donald Ray Hedge and Jerry Lee Hedge; brother, Earl E. Hedge; and sisters, Mary J. Hedge, Lois B. Sharp, Pauline E. Terrill, and Donna M. Anderson.



Visitation is planned for Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
