Paul Wayne Breedlove

Paul Wayne Breedlove, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital. He was born June 27, 1939, in Boone County, Indiana. He is the son of the late Harry “Leroy” and Thelma D. (Allen) Breedlove. Paul Wayne graduated from Lebanon High School. Following high school, he went to Purdue University for two years and attained a Tech Degree. Paul Wayne honorably served our country from 1959-1961 in the 27th Infantry as a medic. On February 8, 1963, he married Priscilla “Anne” (Vanausdall) Breedlove in Lebanon, sharing 61 loving years together; she survives. Paul Wayne was employed by the Indiana State Highway Department as a cost estimator. While working he took computer classes at IUPUI. He had also worked for Mayflower Transit for 30 years as a programmer, system analysis, and a project supervisor. Paul Wayne was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash award by Governor Evan Bayh; he served on a special committee to study reduction of expenditures for the state of Indiana. He concentrated his efforts in the vehicle license bureau and came up with recommendations of over nine million dollars in savings without cutting the workforce. The total task force group recommending cuts totaling 33 million dollars. Paul Wayne was a member of the American Legion and attended Centenary United Methodist Church. For over 20 years he was a part of the “chain gang” at Lebanon High School football games. He owned a Goldwing motorcycle and traveled through 48 states and southern Canada and went on many fishing trips to Red Lake, Ontario, Canada. He enjoyed golfing, and the stock market, but most of all he cherished the moments he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Anne Breedlove; daughters, Terena (Jerry G.) Bowen and Paula (Ron) Sedam; daughter-in-law, Debbie Breedlove; grandchildren, Daniel (Julie) Bowen, Kent (Kasey)Bowen, Whitney (Jacob) King, Garrett (Kaylee) Breedlove, and Luke (Alexis Leo) Sedam; step granddaughter, Amanda Moore; five great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sister, Wanda (Robert) Nance; sisters-in-law, Agnes Breedlove and Rita (Ron) Barber; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Breedlove; sister, Carol (John) Graham; brothers, Jerry Breedlove and Max (Mary Beth) Breedlove; and brother-in-law, John D. Vanausdall. Funeral Services are currently pending. Memorials may be directed in his memory to the Centenary United Methodist Church, 910 Fordice Road, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
