Patricia Irene “Pat” Shepherd, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at her home in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born on June 17, 1943, in Kokomo, Indiana, a daughter of the late Edwin and Lucy (McKinney) Lane.
On October 4, 2012, she was united in marriage to Raymond Russell Shepherd in Walker, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2020.
Pat worked at various places throughout the years such as L.S. Ayres and a family-owned pet store. In addition, she cared for many people as a nurse.
She was a saved Christian. Pat was known for having a welcoming home, where many family members joined her playing Nintendo games, card games, and even a puzzle or two. She enjoyed traveling to places like South Padre, Texas, Hackensack, Minnesota, Tennessee, and many more. She was an avid reader and no matter where she was you could always find her reading. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Pat loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her children, Carole Hess, Kelly (Mike) Thornbrue, Patricia Patton, Bill (Maew) Houston, Shane (Sandra) Shepherd, and Laura (Junior) Tucker; grandchildren, William Downey, Robert (Amanda) Houston, Amy Houston, Tiffaney Christensen, Alex McCartney, Kris Goudreau, Kyle Hess, Amanda Santiago, Neo Houston, Jackson Shepherd, Ryan Shepherd, Maisey Harris, and Christopher Tucker; great grandchildren, Rayne Howard, Zoey Christensen, Bradley Christensen, Chase Christensen, Hunter Christensen, Cadence Houston, Adrian Houston, Charlie Houston, Damien Cooney, Kaleb Brown, Giovanni Santiago, Matthew Goudreau, Alexander Haynes, Dion McCartney, and Destiny McCartney; great-great grandchild, Enid Howard; and a brother, Jerry (Dee) Lane.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Lane and sister, Betty Lane.
The family will greet friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana.
Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
