USA Men's Basketball To Play Brazil In Olympic Quarterfinals (Paris) -- LeBron James and the United States men's basketball team is looking to lock up a spot in the Olympic semifinals. Team USA will face Brazil in the quarterfinals today in Paris. The U.S. finished group play in Paris at 3-and-0 following wins over Serbia, South Sudan and Puerto Rico. The game will tip-off at 3:30 p.m Eastern. Meanwhile, the U.S. women's basketball team will face Nigeria tomorrow in the quarterfinals. >>U.S. Women's Soccer Faces Germany Today In Semifinals (Paris) -- The United States women's national soccer team will attempt to advance to the gold medal match on Tuesday. The U.S. plays Germany in a semifinal match. Team USA advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 win over Japan last Saturday. Trinity Rodman scored the game-winning goal in extra time. The winner of the U.S. versus Germany match will play in the gold medal match on Saturday. The loser of each match will play for the bronze medal on Friday. >>Simone Biles Wins Silver Medal In Floor Exercise (Paris) -- Simone Biles is adding a silver medal to her collection as she wraps up her time at the Paris Olympics. She finished behind Brazil's Rebeca Andrade in the women's floor exercise final Monday. The silver gives Biles eleven overall medals in her Olympic career. Biles has left the door open to trying to compete at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Fellow American Jordan Chiles earned the bronze medal. >>U.S. Wins More Track Medals; Lyles Reaches 200 Semis (Paris) -- American Valleri Allman is celebrating her second straight Olympic gold medal in the women's discus throw. Elsewhere, Sam Kendricks won the silver medal in the men's pole vault. Meanwhile, the fastest man alive Noah Lyles is headed to the semifinals of the men's 200-meters. Lyles and fellow Americans Kenneth Bednarek and Erriyon Knighton all qualified for the semis tomorrow. In the women's 200 meter semifinal, Gabrielle Thomas, McKenzie Long and Brittany Brown qualified for the final, which is slated for today. Other medal events in athletics today include the men's long jump, men's 1500-meters, and the women's hammer throw. >>Caroline Marks Earns Gold In Women's Surfing (Paris) -- Caroline Marks is celebrating a gold medal finish at the Paris Olympics. The 22-year-old stood atop the podium in the women's surfing final. She scored a 10-and-a-half with her five-wave run, while Brazil's Tatiana Weston-Webb finished with a 10-point-33 score. It was her first-career Olympic gold medal.
