Mayor Sheets Appoints Skinner As The New Board Of Public Works Member

On June 28, 2024 Mayor Judy Sheets announced the new Board of Public Works Member, James Skinner. James will be sworn in during the Board of Public Works meeting on Monday, July 8, 2024 following the resignation of Board member Megan Sheets.

James Skinner retired from the Frankfort Police Department in 2022 after being a Police Officer for 42 years. “Jim has extensive knowledge of local government, how our budgets operate, and the importance of collaborating with those in the community. I am excited to have him join my leadership team and keep moving the City of Frankfort forward,” stated Mayor Sheets. “He is a wealth of knowledge and is dedicated to this community.”

The Board of Public Works is the chief administrative governing body of the city. It has control of the daily operations of all city departments, including Building Services, Community Development, Police, Fire, Street, and Parks Department. The Board of Public Works serves as a liaison between the Mayor, city departments, and the Frankfort citizens.

The Board of Public Works meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 5:00pm in the Council Chambers in Old Stoney.
