Local Officer And K9 Participate In K9 Olympics

Last week, Sgt. Root and K9 Gustav ("Gus") with the Whitestown Metropolitain Police Department participated in the K9 Olympics hosted by

Vohne Liche Kennels in Peru Indiana

. This was their first time participating in these events together as handler and canine.  Over 100 canine teams from U.S. police departments and the U.S. military competed in the events. Final results include,

2nd Place - Overall Patrol Team, Narcotics Residence, Fast Dog, and Warehouse Detection.

3rd Place - Overall Narcotics Team, Overall Patrol, and Tracking.
