Lester Ervin “Buddy” Hodgdon

Lester Ervin “Buddy” Hodgdon, 78, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born September 7, 1946, a son of the late Ervin Maurice and Eunice Irene (Everett) Hodgdon. Buddy married Lorna Mary Wholey on February 18, 1967, and she survives. 

 

Buddy attended Perry Central (Fayette) and graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1964. He served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Annapolis, Maryland and Vietnam from 1967-1968. Buddy was then stationed on the USS Keppler in Boston. 

 

Buddy had worked as a route driver for Pepsi for 32 years. He enjoyed golfing and shooting pool, along with playing the guitar. He also loved Corvettes and attending car shows. Buddy enjoyed watching sports, especially college basketball and motor sports. He and his wife also enjoyed wintering in Lake Placid, Florida. 

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Lorna Hodgdon; children, Doug (Susan) Hodgdon and Pam (Brad) Pennington; sister, Joyce Herrmann; grandchildren, Zachary (Taylor) Graham, Mitchell (fiancé, Jessica Squibb) Graham, Carlie Pennington, and Alexis Pennington; great grandchildren, Davis and Delilah Graham; and several nephews.  

 

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Hodgdon.

Family and friends will gather Friday, December 20, for visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
