Lebanon Welfare League Christmas Basket

Updated: Dec 8, 2024

Kappa Delta Phi, Lebanon Welfare League (KDP/LWL) a local 501c3, non-profit civic group carries on a storied tradition providing Christmas dinner baskets for the community’s food insecure. This is the 86th year carrying on the tradition. Sue Muncie, KDP volunteer and LWL Secretary/Treasurer, coordinates the Christmas Basket applications with the Caring Center to make certain there is no duplicity, so more families can be served. Applications can be filled out at the Caring Center,1230 Ransdell Court, Lebanon during their regular hours. Once applications are filled, the groceries are ordered. Meat certificates are mailed to families to be redeemed at Lebanon IGA. KDP volunteer civic members assemble the Christmas dinners to be picked up by the applicants. The community businesses and residents can sponsor an individual or a family and provide ingredients for a Christmas meal by calling Sue Muncie, KDP/LWL co-chair at (765) 894-0051. Monetary donations for dinner ingredients may be mailed or dropped off (during business hours) at Walker Hughes Insurance (Lamar & Lamar), 120 N. Lebanon St. Lebanon, IN 46052. Please write checks payable to KDP/LWL Christmas Baskets. Last year, 459 persons were provided Christmas dinners, and 8 families were adopted out by community residents and businesses
