Lebanon Police Investigate Accident

On April 4, 2025, at approximately 4:52 PM, officers with the Lebanon Police Department (LPD) responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving one vehicle on Interstate 65 near the 135-mile marker northbound in Lebanon, IN.
Upon arrival, officers were informed that two individuals had been ejected from the vehicle. LPD immediately shut down both northbound and southbound lanes of I-65 to secure the scene and render aid. First responders began administering life-saving measures to the ejected individuals.
A 12-year-old female, who was ejected from the vehicle, was found breathing and conscious. She was transported to a hospital in the Indianapolis area for further medical treatment. A 14-year-old male, also ejected from the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries. He was transported emergent to a hospital in the Indianapolis area, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Taylor Kammes, 35, of Illinois, was transported to an Indianapolis area hospital for a blood draw, in accordance with Indiana’s Implied Consent law. Other vehicle occupants were also transported for evaluation and treatment. The crash is still under investigation.
