Lebanon Hires New Boys Soccer Coach

Lebanon High School is excited to announce Max Florea as the new Head Boys Soccer Coach. With a wealth of experience in teaching, leadership, and coaching, Coach Florea is an outstanding addition to the Lebanon Tiger Coaching Family.

A graduate of Butler University, Coach Florea developed a strong foundation in teamwork, leadership, and athletic performance. His experience extends beyond coaching soccer, as he has also been a dedicated educator. He served as a 6th-grade teacher in Wayne Township and is currently honored as the 5th Grade Teacher of the Year at Phalen Leadership Academy. Coach Florea’s ability to connect with young people, communicate effectively, and lead by example reflects the leadership qualities that will make him a great coach.

With over five years of experience coaching at both the Junior Varsity and Varsity levels, Coach Florea has demonstrated his ability to motivate, develop, and guide his players. At Plainfield High School, he led practices, developed game strategies, and set high standards for discipline and teamwork. His focus on the growth of each player—both on and off the field—has been a key factor in his success.

Coach Florea comes highly recommended by former Plainfield Head Coach Drew Sheppard, who has seen firsthand the growth and positive impact Coach Florea has had on his teams. Coach Sheppard has consistently praised Coach Florea’s leadership and motivational skills, especially in challenging situations.

Coach Florea’s coaching philosophy goes beyond soccer. He emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship, academic achievement, mental toughness, and physical fitness. His mentorship extends beyond the field as he guides his players to become well-rounded individuals who excel in all areas of their lives. This commitment to personal development will undoubtedly make Coach Florea an invaluable asset to Lebanon High School.

One of Coach Florea’s most significant accomplishments was his role as an assistant coach for the Varsity team at Plainfield High School, where his strategic planning and dedication to player development helped the team achieve its first sectional championship in decades. This success was a testament to his ability to create a team-focused environment where every player contributed to the team’s overall success.

Coach Florea’s passion for soccer, combined with his focus on leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship, will have a lasting impact on Lebanon’s soccer program. He is a coach who will not only help athletes reach their potential on the field but also equip them with life skills that will benefit them beyond graduation.
