Mrs. LaDonna Lou Allen, 88, of Whitestown, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon. LaDonna was born September 30, 1935, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Irvin and Edith (Hine) Peters. On Mar. 6, 1955, she married Donald Keith Allen; he passed away January 31, 2022, and they had shared 66 years together. LaDonna graduated from Whitestown High School and had worked in the Sunshine Ministry for the local nursing home. She was a farm girl and enjoyed working outside, along with collecting rocks. LaDonna loved animals, especially her dogs. She also enjoyed traveling and camping. LaDonna loved her church, Lighthouse Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Donald (Brenda) Allen of Indianapolis; daughter, Debbie (Jon) Henry of Whitestown; Don and LaDonna were blessed with five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. LaDonna also leaves behind her very dear friend, Mary Lou Staton, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two great granddaughters. Family and friends will gather Friday, April 5, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Merv McNair officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. LaDonna will be laid to rest at Mts. Runn Cemetery in Boone County.
