Mr. James William Jett, 88, of Lebanon, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Autumn Trace in Lebanon. He was born August 19, 1936, in Lebanon, a son of the late Clarence H. and Mary Louise (Hunt) Jett. Jim married Judith A. Caldwell on September 6, 1959, and she survives. Jim attended Indiana University. He then served in the United States Army from 1959 until he was honorably discharged in 1962. Jim had worked in automotive parts for 41 years, where he was employed by numerous Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealerships throughout Indianapolis, Plainfield, Zionsville, and Kokomo. He also worked with auctioneers. Jim enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, along with camping, hiking, and campfires. He also enjoyed watching sports and attending sporting events, and especially loved to bowl. Jim was a faithful member of the Zionsville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Judith Jett of Lebanon; daughters, Jeffra (Jeffrey) Jones of Lebanon and Jill Pickett (Cliff Winegar) of Plainfield; three grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Jett and sister, Marilyn Ranney. Family and friends will gather Saturday, November 9, 2024, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Cancer Center at Witham Memorial Hospital or to the Boone County Cancer Society.
