Mr. James E. “Jim” Shaw, 94, of Lebanon, died Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born March 4, 1930, in Lebanon, a son of the late Ruby (Aligree) and Jesse D. Shaw. Jim married Patricia M. Clemens on November 13, 1953. Jim was a proud American and was a lifelong resident of Boone County and Lebanon. Before he was called to serve in the Army during the Korean War, Jim attended Indiana Central College, where he studied accounting. He retired from Allison Transmission in 1989, after 32 years of service and at the age of 57. Jim was a member of Boone Lodge #9 F & AM and the Scottish Rite, and was a former member of the Lebanon Elks Lodge #635 and the American Legion. He enjoyed Big Ten basketball, especially Purdue during the Mount and Walker brothers’ eras. Jim is survived by his youngest son, Dan Shaw of Lebanon and sister, Linda Seeright of Springfield, OH. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, David, on November 3, 1998; his wife, Patti on May 17, 2020; and his brothers, Robert and Ray Shaw. At Jim’s request, there will be no services held. He will be cremated and be placed next to his wife, Patti. Jim had a blessed and a good, long life. Final care of Jim has been entrusted to the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
