Jack Lee Irwin

Mr. Jack Lee Irwin, 82, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, March 1, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born October 10, 1942, in Lebanon, a son of the late Paul and Trecil Irwin. 

 

Jack graduated from Lebanon High School, and then enlisted to serve in the U.S. Air Force from May 24, 1961 until May 18, 1966. He had worked for Allison’s and then General Motors until the time of his retirement. At work, Jack was given the name “Smilin’ Jack.” He loved NASCAR and ran a NASCAR pool for over 20 years. Jack also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts and Purdue, along with barbecuing chicken. Spending time with his family was especially important to him. 

 

Survivors include his sons, Mike (Gina) Irwin, Jeff Irwin (Vickie King), and Brian (Shana) Irwin, all of Lebanon; sisters, Bonnie Wethington and Evelyn Wooten; grandchildren, Nicole, Renae, Matt, Brittany, Andrew, and Jarrod Irwin, Alicia Kemp, Jacelyn (Kyle) Lafary, and Marlayna Kemp; great grandchildren, Jacklynn Irwin, Ethan Hussung, and Fletcher Lafary; and several nieces and nephews. 

 

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Irwin; and siblings, Keith Irwin, Luanna Lewandowski, and Mildred LaGrange.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 22, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the American Legion, 1020 Hendricks Drive, Lebanon.
