Jack Bishop

Mr. Jack Bishop, 91, passed away Sunday morning, November 12, 2023, at his home in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born on February 22, 1932, in Boone County, a son of the late Orville V. and Estle M. (Padgett) Bishop. In 1954 he married Shelby (Ramsey) Bishop in Sheridan, Indiana; she survives. Jack was a 1950 graduate of Sheridan High School. Following school Jack served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He then went to work locally at Indiana Bell as a repair manager. He was a member of the Liberty Christian Church in Sheridan for many years. In Jacks free time he enjoyed golfing. Above all, he loved his family and the time they spent together. Survivors include his wife, Shelby Bishop of Lebanon; son, Terry (Kim) Bishop of Sheridan; son-in-law, Reid Waitt of North Carolina; grandchildren, Brant (Melissa) Bishop, Robin (Camden) Parkhurst, Brooke Bishop, Taylor (Katie) Waitt and Katherine (Mac) Schultz; and great grandchildren, Lyla Bishop, Jack Bishop, Kylie Parkhurst, Cooper Parkhurst and Ava Waitt. In addition to his father and mother, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey Waitt and two sisters. Graveside Services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on December 1, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana, with Pastor David Kinsley, officiating.
