Holiday-Shortened Trading Week Kicks Off

The opening bell rings this morning as Wall Street kicks off what will be an abbreviated trading week following the Christmas holiday. This, after a mostly positive week wrapped up on Friday. Coming up, today brings word on consumer confidence along with the S&P Case-Shiller home price index. Pending home sales and weekly jobless claims are due Thursday. The earnings calendar is clear this week, with fourth-quarter earnings season not kicking off until January 8th.
