Five People Charged In November Shooting In Lafayette

Tippecanoe County Prosecutors are charging five adults and one juvenile in connection to a November shooting on Commanche Trail in Lafayette. Keaton Compton, 27, of Frankfort, faces three counts of attempted murder and several other charges. Witnesses say Compton was riding in a Jeep with a group of people when he pulled a gun and emptied a clip at a truck they were following. Prosecutors are also charging the driver of the Jeep, Manuel Vega, and the owner of the .40-caliber handgun, Wyatt Williams, with counts of attempted aggravated battery and several other charges. Two more people in the car, Madison Heathcote and Lazaro Vega, are being charged with counts of assisting a criminal and false informing. A juvenile male has also been arrested and faces charges including aggravated battery.
