Mrs. Ethel Lorene Ross, 91, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Crown Pointe Assisted Living in Lebanon. She was born on June 3, 1933, in Jamestown, Indiana, a daughter of the late Dorval Delbert Hedge and Edith Alvaria (Ragsdale) Hedge. Ethel met her husband, Lowell Lee Ross at a church youth rally and married on November 24, 1951, in Jamestown. He passed away just a few days before their 70th anniversary. Ethel was a cheerleader at Jackson Township High School in Jamestown, graduating in 1951. After graduating she attended Lincoln Christian College in Illinois. She started her career at Pinnell Elementary School and for 30 years she was the food service director at Western Boone School Corporation. She was a member at the New Brunswick Church of Christ, where she played the piano and sang in the choir. Ethel loved being around people and sharing her jokes. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed. Survivors include her children, Becky Guthrie of Alabama, Gary (Sherry) Ross of Crawfordsville, Sandy (Chris) Schooler of Greenwood, and Phil (Debbie) Ross of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Dustin, Mindy, Derrick, Melissa, Katie, and Neal; sixteen great grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Jan) Hedge of Coatesville; sister, Louise Benge of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her brothers, William Hedge and Delbert Hedge and sisters, Thelma Wheat and Marjorie Henry. Funeral Services are planned for 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
