Cochran’s Catering & Cakes Wins Boone County 180 Makeover Grant

Cochran’s Catering & Cakes, in collaboration with the Town of Jamestown, celebrates winning the inaugural Boone County 180 Makeover grant. This significant award, part of the 180 Alliance for READI 1.0 funding, designates $44,989 for essential roof repairs, enhancing safety and aesthetics for Cochran’s and the broader community. The grant, a component of the 180 Makeover program led by the 180 Alliance, comprising Boone, Hendricks, Johnson, Montgomery, Morgan, and Putnam Counties (excluding Zionsville and Greenwood), is supported by approximately $1.2 million in available funding for Boone County. “The 180 Makeover program is meaningful to the business owners in Jamestown,” said Jamestown Town Council President Shane Childress. “It’s a chance to breathe new life into our aging buildings and to make these projects more financially feasible for the building owners.” Boone EDC CEO Molly Whitehead expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to collaborate with our municipalities on the 180 Makeover program for Boone County. Downtowns are the lifeblood of ourcommunity, and we aim to foster environments where small businesses and entrepreneurs can thrive." Rodney Cochran, owner of Cochran’s Catering and Cakes, affirmed the commitment to Jamestown's heritage and beauty, saying, "With over 40 years of service in Jamestown, we are dedicated to enhancing our town's legacy. This grant enables us to sustain our business and contribute to the preservation and enhancement of downtown Jamestown."
