City Of Frankfort Awarded Grant

Updated: Dec 8, 2024

The City of Frankfort is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to develop a comprehensive safety plan. This grant is part of the FHWA’s Safe Streets for All (SS4A) program, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries.

The City of Frankfort will use the grant funding to conduct a thorough safety analysis of its transportation system, identify high-risk locations, and develop strategies to improve safety for all road users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists. The plan will prioritize safety improvements and allocate resources to implement effective solutions.

The Safe Streets for All (SS4A) program is a multi-year initiative funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries. The program provides funding to states and local governments to develop and implement comprehensive safety plans, engineering improvements, education and enforcement campaigns, and other strategies.
