It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Nathan Helton, who left us on October 11, 2024 at the age of 79. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Born on June 2nd, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. Charles was the son of Nathan Wayne Helton and Ruth Lois Helton. He grew up in Carmel, Indiana and attended Carmel High School. He joined the US Army in October of 1962 where he received his GED. He was honorably discharged in June of 1963 due to a fire at his parents’ home. Charles dedicated his life to his faith, his wife Patricia, and his children. He retired from Allison Transmission where he worked as a machinist for 35 years. He was known for his generosity. Outside of work, Charles had a passion for the Lord. He enjoyed working on cars, doing yardwork, watching football, and studying the bible. His love for the Lord was evident to all who knew him. Charles is survived by his wife of 57 years Patricia, his children: Victoria, Theresa, Diana, Andrew. His grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Adele, Luke, Alex, Noah, Max, Logan, Aiden, and Xavier. His sisters: Debbie, Betty, Susie. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Family and friends will gather on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. with Max Colver officiating in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Charles will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
