Boone EDC Partners With Helix 33 To Explore Innovative Housing Solutions For Boone County

  As Boone County continues to grow, the Boone Economic Development Corporation (Boone EDC) is stepping up to address one of the region’s most pressing challenges: the need for diverse and attainable housing options. In a strategic move to explore forward-thinking housing models, Boone EDC has partnered with Indianapolis-based Helix 33 to host an educational event for local leaders focused on innovative housing solutions. The event brought together a cross-section of Boone County’s leadership, including elected officials, business leaders, and community stakeholders.

Participants were introduced to Helix 33’s modular housing model, developed in partnership with Volumod. These custom-built units are manufactured off-site in a controlled environment, then transported and assembled efficiently on location. This streamlined process reduces construction time and costs, offering a promising solution for communities facing housing shortages. “This partnership is about more than housing—it’s about future-proofing our community,” said Jessica Schwarz, Vice President of Economic Development at Boone EDC. “By bringing decision-makers to the table early, we can make informed, strategic choices that align with Boone County’s long-term vision.”
