Governor Eric Holcomb has declared April as Child Abuse Prevention Month! Governor Holcomb states, “Every child has the right to safe, secure, and supportive environments free from child abuse and neglect. The key to preventing these cases is to ensure we have community programs and systems that are engaged and supportive so families can thrive.”
The declaration states that there were over 200,000 reports in Indiana alone of abuse and neglect in 2023. The Sylvias Child Advocacy Center continues to support and advocate for children and families affected by abuse and neglect. Join them in their mission this April to ensure all children have a safe and supportive place to talk.
Be sure to follow along this month while they post statistics, information and more about how we all can continue to keep children safe! As always, support your local chapter,
