Anita J. Clemens Warren, 70, a lifelong Lebanon resident, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Friday, October 25, 2024 after a short stay surrounded by her family. Anita was born and raised in Lebanon, a daughter of Jack Nelson and Anna Ruth (Essex) Clemens. She was a 1972 graduate of Lebanon High School. She married Chad E Warren in 1974, later divorcing. They had one son, Craig M. Warren who survives and lives in Lebanon. Anita was very active at Lebanon High School and one of the proud members of the “Girls of ’72”. At LHS, she was a varsity cheerleader, student council member, candelabrum committee, Senior Class Secretary, Sunshine Society - holding a state office, YBLL, and a proud member of GAA (before they had sanctioned girls high school sports) - participating in basketball, volleyball and track. She worked at The Loft during high school and after graduation she worked at Woods Wholesale, Citizens Bank, the Lebanon Reporter and Hachette Book Group as an inventory analyst, retiring a few years ago. Her family attended First United Church of Christ (now First Community Church) where she was active in the choir. Anita loved her family, the mountains of Tennessee, reading, playing cards and board games, watching the Indianapolis Colts and collecting Longaberger Baskets. Surviving in addition to her son are brother, Jim Clemens (Angela) of Lebanon; sister, Beth Clemens Forsythe (Ron) of Lebanon; sister- in- law, Carla Clemens of Frankfort; nephews, Jack Clemens III (Kelly), Scott Clemens (Diane), and Ben Forsythe (Casey); nieces, Cari Estes (Eric), Angie Coddington (Chris), Jami French, and Sara Forsythe; along with several great and great- great nieces and nephews and many cousins who she loved dearly. Also, her good friend Sandy Cline and the girls of ‘72, we thank you for your friendships. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother, Jack Clemens Jr. and best friend, Denise York Mclaughlin. The family expresses their sincere appreciation for the excellent care she received at Witham ER and St. Vincent Hospital. We will never forget the kindness and care we all received. Family and Friends will gather on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, for visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brad Long officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, Lebanon. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.
