Allan Lamar Adams

Allan Lamar Adams, 86, passed away early morning on April 14, 2025, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born in Waugh, Indiana on September 8, 1938; a son of the late Orville Cleo and Grace E. (Reddick) Adams.



Allan graduated from Kirklin High School. He then served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Allan was a teamster for over 30 years working for Turner Tucking in Lebanon and Preston Trucking in Indianapolis.



On January 12, 1968, he married Judith A. (Dale) Adams in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2014.



Allan enjoyed woodworking, gardening, birdwatching, traveling, camping, and he was an avid Packers fan. Every Wednesday morning, he looked forward to having coffee with two buddies, Carter and Bud. Above all he valued attending his grandchildren’s school activities. Allan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed.



Survivors include three children, Lisa M. (Barry) Haughton of Lebanon, A. Dale (Kristy) Adams of Thorntown, and James J. “Jay” (Chrysanthi) Adams of Martinsville; five grandchildren, Aaron R. (Fiancée, Kendra) Haughton of Austin, Texas, Blake A. (Claire) Haughton of Lebanon, Erica J. (Adam) Dezsi of Martinsville, Avery M. Adams of Lebanon, and Ray Adams of Thorntown; sister, Barbara Ensley of Sheridan; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat.



In addition to his parents and wife, Allan was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin “Sonny” Adams; and two sisters, Ileene Miller and Betty Cox.



Funeral Services with military rites are planned for 1:00 p.m., on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
