The Advance Community Christian Church Vacation Bible School recently collected funds to donate $400.00 to the Witham Volunteer Organization. Pastor Steve Vitaniemi, Senior Minister of Advance Christian Community Church said “The reason we chose the Witham Volunteer Organization as our Vacation Bible School Mission is each year the church Vacation Bible School collects offerings and donates the money to our local community and worldwide organizations that are helping meet the physical and spiritual needs as the hands and heart of Jesus.
This year the Witham Volunteer Organization was chosen as a recipient to aid in their efforts of meeting the needs and supporting the mission of Witham Hospital and the children they care for. Giving is an important life lesson for our children to show them that we each can make a difference in our community, Pastor Steve said.” Pastor Steve is also a licensed Chaplain with the International Fellowship of Chaplains and serves as a volunteer Chaplain for Witham.
Amy Mitchell, Director of the Volunteer Organization at Witham said “this donation will be used to support the Witham Volunteer Organization Scholarship Program and various fund the need initiatives for Witham and all donation dollars stay right here in Boone County.” We are grateful for the support of community organizations such as Advance Christian Community Church and the community at large. We could not provide these programs without their continued support, Mitchell said.”
