Ada Darlene Shinn, 67, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She was born March 30, 1959, in Lebanon, Indiana, and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1977. While in high school, Darlene participated in band and was student manager for the girls basketball teams Darlene enjoyed fishing, traveling, crafts, and taking mission trips to Jamaica. She volunteered with a Sheridan food pantry for several years, assisted with tutoring and IT support at Cornerstone Christian Academ

Lightning from early morning storms Saturday sparked a fire in the 4000 block of Sugar Pine Lane in Zionsville. First arriving units from the Zionsville Police Department reported flames and heavy smoke coming from the two-story residence. ZFD crews arrived and were able to quickly bring the fire under control. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to firefighters or the public. Damage caused by the fire is estimated at $150,000.
